Field-by-field comparison

Compare the evidence before choosing an MCP.

Each signal stays separate, missing facts remain visible, and the column order follows your selection.

MCPs in this comparison

Uncheck an MCP to remove it. Comparing two or three keeps each signal in its own row.

Task fit
Best for
  • Querying decompilation, symbols, references, functions, and analysis state inside Ghidra
  • Running Apify Store Actors and retrieving their datasets through a hosted or local MCP connection
Not ideal for
  • Static analysis workflows that do not use Ghidra or do not need agent-driven interaction
  • Simple page retrieval that does not justify an Apify account, Actor selection, and usage-based execution
Avoid when
  • The analyzed binary or Ghidra project cannot be exposed to the connected AI client
  • The target site's terms, privacy requirements, or your organization prohibit the proposed extraction

Access and data
AuthenticationHTTP bearer authentication is optional through GHIDRA_MCP_AUTH_TOKEN; without it authentication is disabled. Non-loopback binding is refused without a token. Scripts require GHIDRA_MCP_ALLOW_SCRIPTS.Hosted mode supports OAuth or Authorization Bearer APIFY_TOKEN; local stdio uses APIFY_TOKEN. Discovery tools can be unauthenticated, and agentic payment tokens are additional alternatives.
CostThe Apache-2.0 project lists no MCP fee. Ghidra, Java, Maven, hosting, and shared-server costs are separate.Actor and platform usage is chargeable according to Actor pricing; even free Actors incur platform usage. x402, Skyfire, and AGI payment paths are documented; no fixed MCP fee is stated.
PermissionsReads and writes binaries and projects, renames and types symbols, adds comments and structures, executes scripts, performs P-code emulation and debugging, and integrates with Ghidra Server.Dynamically exposes Apify Actors, including web, social, maps, and e-commerce scrapers, plus run, dataset, key-value-store, and documentation tools. call-actor executes external Actors.
Data handlingOperates on local binaries and projects and optionally shared Ghidra Server data; decompilation, memory, debugger, and script results are returned through MCP. Telemetry and retention are not documented.Requests and Actor inputs are sent to Apify; run results can be stored in Apify datasets and key-value stores. Telemetry is enabled by default and stdio uses Sentry; detailed retention is not documented.
Limitations
Tradeoffs
  • It accelerates navigation and analysis, but agent actions can alter project state and reverse-engineering output still requires expert validation.
  • Thousands of Actors broaden coverage, but each Actor has its own inputs and trust surface and Apify compute or proxy usage may incur charges.
Risk contextWrite access, optional arbitrary Java scripts, debugger control, and shared-server access create substantial integrity and confidentiality risk. Prefer loopback, bearer auth, scopes, scripts disabled, and supervised writes.Actor execution can scrape external sites, process personal or regulated data, incur spend, and return untrusted content. Restrict tools, use scoped tokens, review Actor pricing and terms, and control telemetry and storage.
