Field-by-field comparison

Compare the evidence before choosing an MCP.

Each signal stays separate, missing facts remain visible, and the column order follows your selection.

Task fit
Best for
  • Klaviyo teams that need analytics/marketing workflows in an AI client and can use read-only/user-content restrictions where appropriate.
  • Running Apify Store Actors and retrieving their datasets through a hosted or local MCP connection
Not ideal for
  • Teams handling sensitive marketing/customer data without clear API scopes or prompt-injection controls.
  • Simple page retrieval that does not justify an Apify account, Actor selection, and usage-based execution
Avoid when
  • For exploratory use, prefer `read-only=true` and disable tools that expose user-generated content unless those features are specifically needed.
  • The target site's terms, privacy requirements, or your organization prohibit the proposed extraction

Access and data
AuthenticationHosted service uses OAuth/dynamic client registration; local server can use a scoped Klaviyo private API key.Hosted mode supports OAuth or Authorization Bearer APIFY_TOKEN; local stdio uses APIFY_TOKEN. Discovery tools can be unauthenticated, and agentic payment tokens are additional alternatives.
CostKlaviyo plan/API and model/provider costs apply.Actor and platform usage is chargeable according to Actor pricing; even free Actors incur platform usage. x402, Skyfire, and AGI payment paths are documented; no fixed MCP fee is stated.
PermissionsPermissions follow OAuth/API scopes. Hosted read-only mode disables write tools; UGC-related tools can also be disabled.Dynamically exposes Apify Actors, including web, social, maps, and e-commerce scrapers, plus run, dataset, key-value-store, and documentation tools. call-actor executes external Actors.
Data handlingMarketing/customer/account data and potentially user-generated content can be exposed to the AI client/provider. Klaviyo explicitly provides a control to disable UGC tools.Requests and Actor inputs are sent to Apify; run results can be stored in Apify datasets and key-value stores. Telemetry is enabled by default and stdio uses Sentry; detailed retention is not documented.
Limitations
Tradeoffs
  • Promoted after strict re-audit: canonical identity and MCP-native/publisher-backed implementation are sufficiently evidenced, with real workflow value, usable documentation, understandable permissions, plausible maintenance, and no unresolved security veto. Still not strong enough for Selected.
  • Thousands of Actors broaden coverage, but each Actor has its own inputs and trust surface and Apify compute or proxy usage may incur charges.
Risk contextSensitive customer/marketing data, mutating campaign operations and prompt-injection risk from user-generated content require explicit controls.Actor execution can scrape external sites, process personal or regulated data, incur spend, and return untrusted content. Restrict tools, use scoped tokens, review Actor pricing and terms, and control telemetry and storage.
