Field-by-field comparison

Compare the evidence before choosing an MCP.

Each signal stays separate, missing facts remain visible, and the column order follows your selection.

Uncheck an MCP to remove it. Comparing two or three keeps each signal in its own row.

Task fit
Best for
  • Agent products that need many third-party integrations through one managed auth layer
  • Development/testing where connected accounts can be limited to non-production scopes
  • Querying decompilation, symbols, references, functions, and analysis state inside Ghidra
Not ideal for
  • A single assistant should not have broad access across many business systems
  • Organizations that require deterministic per-tool least-privilege and pre-approved write scopes
  • Static analysis workflows that do not use Ghidra or do not need agent-driven interaction
Avoid when
  • Users connect privileged email, finance, CRM, infrastructure, or social accounts without independent approvals
  • You cannot revoke or audit connected accounts promptly
  • The analyzed binary or Ghidra project cannot be exposed to the connected AI client

Access and data
AuthenticationPipedream provides managed OAuth/account connection. Developer use also requires Pipedream project/client credentials.HTTP bearer authentication is optional through GHIDRA_MCP_AUTH_TOKEN; without it authentication is disabled. Non-loopback binding is refused without a token. Scripts require GHIDRA_MCP_ALLOW_SCRIPTS.
CostDevelopment can start free; provider and Pipedream plan/usage limits may apply. The Apache-2.0 project lists no MCP fee. Ghidra, Java, Maven, hosting, and shared-server costs are separate.
PermissionsEffective permissions are those granted to each connected third-party account/app. The server can expose tools across thousands of APIs.Reads and writes binaries and projects, renames and types symbols, adds comments and structures, executes scripts, performs P-code emulation and debugging, and integrates with Ghidra Server.
Data handlingTool calls can read from and write to connected SaaS accounts; credentials are managed by Pipedream's Connect platform.Operates on local binaries and projects and optionally shared Ghidra Server data; decompilation, memory, debugger, and script results are returned through MCP. Telemetry and retention are not documented.
Limitations
Tradeoffs
  • Managed auth reduces credential-handling burden
  • Breadth creates a large policy surface and many tools can create real-world side effects
  • It accelerates navigation and analysis, but agent actions can alter project state and reverse-engineering output still requires expert validation.
Risk contextHigh. Connected accounts can include messaging, CRM, cloud, commerce, and other systems. Require strong account scoping, revocation, audit, and human approval for impactful actions.Write access, optional arbitrary Java scripts, debugger control, and shared-server access create substantial integrity and confidentiality risk. Prefer loopback, bearer auth, scopes, scripts disabled, and supervised writes.
