Limitations
Tradeoffs
  • The hosted setup is straightforward, but the current tool surface includes both diagnostic reads and management writes
  • Telemetry can contain user-controlled or sensitive content and must be treated as data, not instructions
  • The hosted server keeps upstream Sentry credentials server-side and narrows sessions by skills and paths, but requests broad upstream scopes.
  • AI-powered natural-language search may invoke an embedded model/provider; stdio self-hosting requires separate provider keys for those tools.
  • Self-hosted Sentry may lack features such as Seer and needs explicit skill disabling.
Risk contextMedium to high. Telemetry can contain secrets or prompt-injection content, and management tools can modify observability resources. Treat returned telemetry as untrusted diagnostic data.Production error telemetry often contains sensitive values, while upstream OAuth scopes include write capabilities. Prefer a project-constrained hosted URL, minimal granted skills, human approval for mutations, and prior telemetry scrubbing.
