Set the ADYEN_API_KEY environment variable without exposing the key in your shell history:

If you are using the LIVE environment then you must also provide your live URL prefix, for example:

We advise to only run a subset of tools required for your particular use case:

What can Adyen MCP do with Checkout and Management API workflows?

Use Adyen Checkout and Management API workflows through an official MCP package.

What access can Adyen MCP have?

Adyen MCP can expose Checkout and payment-session workflows, payment links and modifications, merchant accounts, terminals, legal entities and onboarding, webhooks, users, payment methods, API credentials, and allowed origins. The exact surface is explicitly configurable with the server's tool selection, so grant only the Adyen credentials and tool subset needed for the workflow.

Does Adyen MCP work with Codex?

Yes. MCP100 reviewed an evidence-backed setup for Codex, but has not independently verified it with a live runtime test.

How does Adyen MCP authenticate?

The package uses publisher-documented Adyen API credentials.

Is Adyen MCP safe for production payments?

Adyen labels the server alpha and pilot-stage. Use a test environment where practical, least-privilege credentials, narrowly enabled tools, and explicit confirmation for mutations. MCP100 did not execute third-party server code during this documentation review.
