Capability
Metabase MCP is a first-party MCP for let ai clients query and build against a user's own metabase instance under existing permissions. Authentication/setup: OAuth 2.0 via Metabase's embedded OAuth server. The endpoint is instance-specific: https://{your-metabase.example.com}/api/metabase-mcp. Query, SQL, write, and delivery scopes can expose or mutate sensitive analytics content; OAuth never grants more than the connecting user's Metabase permissions.
Metabase documents permission-scoped capabilities but the reviewed page does not publish a stable exact tool inventory; clients can approve/block tools after OAuth.
